Chickenpox Vaccine
Eligibility:
Available for individuals aged 9 months to 65 years who have never had chickenpox.
Dosage:
Two doses required for full protection, given 4–8 weeks apart.
Important Information:
- Not suitable if you are pregnant or trying for a baby.
- Must be given at least 4 weeks apart from certain other vaccines — consult the pharmacist
if you’ve recently had another vaccine.

NHS Eligibility:
If you are 65 or over, you may be entitled to a free NHS vaccine through your GP.
Shingles Vaccine
Eligibility:
Suitable for individuals aged 50 and over.
Dosage:
Two doses required for full protection. Administered as an injection in the upper arm.
Timing:
Can be given any time of year.
Cost: £240 per dose
NHS Eligibility:
You are eligible for a free NHS vaccine through your GP if:
- You turned 65 on or after 1 September 2023
- The vaccine is available until your 80th birthday
